Sorry I've been MIA, I had to build my in-laws a computer since theirs took a dump on them late last week. I needed to take my old video card out and use it in theirs.

As for my new computer, I finally started putting it together last night. I'll try to get it up and running by tomorrow night. I had to also give my inlaws my old monitor since their old one didn’t have the new serial type connection that the video card required. Plus I just wanted to get the 23" HD monitor like the one I just bought for my wife.

I'll shoot some pictures and hope to be online by tomorrow night pending any issues.

Anyone know when Will is coming back for his 2 week break?

yeah dude....Dell is having that deal still where you can get their 23" HD monitory for 179 shipped and also you can get the same monitor with a wireless keyboard and mouse for 199 shipped.

the computer is put together...i havent loaded windows yet, thats tonight. When do i need to check if the 4th core can be unlocked? If you want, pm me here on how to check, or i can try to d/l on my wifes computer.

the computer went together nicely and i have a few pictures. That 5850 graphics card is huge, but it fit fine. As usual, wire management took me the most time. Hope to be up and running tonight, i'll msg you on steam once i get it. let me know about that 4th core.

The 4th core can be unlocked any time, What i meant with dont put it all together yet is by keeping the top open because if it failed to do so it will put your computer into a restart loop that you can't controll so you will have to rest bios by removing the small battery. Not a big deal done it few times to try and get my 4th core unlocked but i didn't get lucky.

I am typing this before a class i have but i will be back home around 6E and hopefully you will have windows by then and i can show you how to unlock the 4th core and overclock your cpu a little bit.


We will need to be on the phone though because to overclock or to unlock the core you will need to be in bios and you can't use vent or steam while your in bios.

Also, to unlock the 4th core you dont need windows to be installed but to overclock you need windows to be installed so we can check the temperature.
